Business Awards
Theme 1 of the Programme includes a Business Awards competition which will seek to recognize the efforts of owner-managers in the SEED region in what is currently a challenging economic climate.
The 2012 Business Awards were also presented to help reward and recognise the most innovative and successful businesses across the Council areas. Winners of the inaugural awards were:
- Export Award – SDG
- Female Business Champion Award – Tish Dorman from Moon and Spoon
- Young Entrepreneur Award – Emma Taylor from the Newry Times
- Innovation Award – Task Maestro
- Armagh Business Champion Award – Forthill Farm
- Banbridge Business Champion Award – Angelic Bridal
- Craigavon Business Champion Award – Irwin Electrical
- Newry & Mourne Business Champion Award – Wade Training (Newry Branch)
Commenting on the Business Awards and Conference, Elaine McAlinden Enterprise Development Officer at Banbridge District Council said,
“We are delighted to see so many local businesses attend the conference and I have no doubt the calibre of speakers played a key role in the success of the conference. I would also like to congratulate Roisin McAleenan, whose business Angelic Bridal received the award as the ‘Banbridge Business Champion’”.
Commenting on the Business Awards, Diane Stinson Economic Development Officer at Armagh City and District Council said,
“We are delighted to see so many local businesses attend the conference and I have no doubt the calibre of speakers played a key role in the success of the conference. I would also like to congratulate all the businesses that participated in the business awards and we have seen some great examples of innovative and growing businesses. As part of our commitment to supporting local businesses we are engaging in a number of new programmes under the umbrella of SEED as well as a Growth Programme in Armagh City and District”.
